Nelumbo nucifera(=lotus flower) is known by a number of common names, including Indian lotus, sacred lotus, bean of India, and sacred water-lily. Botanically, Nelumbo nucifera (Gaertn.) may also be referred to by its former names, Nelumbium speciosum (Wild.) or Nymphaea nelumbo. This plant is an aquatic perennial, but if its seeds are preserved under favorable circumstances, they may remain viable for many years.





고속도로 휴계소에서 운좋게도 예쁜 연꽃을 봤다. 인도의 연꽃이 유명한가. 원산지가 인도, 호주등으로,
연못이나 논밭에서 볼수있는 수초, 연의 꽃은 7~8월에 붉은색 또는 흰색으로 핀다.
